Mark Schryver is the ultimate professional. My husband and I bought a spectacular duplex penthouse in Manhattan, and although we love to decorate and shop, we had no vision for its unique appearance. Mark had worked on a small project for me before, and I called on him again. He provided the vision, style, quality, pricing - and on top of that, is a true joy to partner with. We moved in right on time and I think of him each day as I enjoy the stunning yet understated surroundings, and how much of Mark's taste and wisdom went into creating our happy home.

Working with Mark and Schryver Design was everything we hoped it would be. From the initial meeting to the final installation, Mark understood what we wanted and executed perfectly. We hired Mark Schryver to help us design and decorate our Brooklyn brownstone. As first-time home buyers and pregnant with our first child, we were utterly overwhelmed by the prospect of decorating an entire house, no less in the few short months before our son was born. Mark completely delivered and created a home we were proud of. From painting to fabric choices, Mark always provided several beautiful options to us. He was incredibly professional at all times, and frankly, was a pleasure to be around. When we moved across the country years later, Mark even agreed to help us map out where to put our furniture in our new home. In short, he makes a daunting endeavor feel seamless and easy, and you won't be disappointed by the final product!

I hired Mark Schryver to design from scratch a bathroom in an unusual attic space in a beach house in East Hampton. The design that Mark came up with was more beautiful than any expectations I had. He used the space creatively, came up with solutions to problems I didn't know I had, found a contractor for me and stayed within budget. The project expanded to include painting the whole house - with a new color palette - and installing a video and electronic system with another person recommended by Mark. He is not only "full-service" and very creative; Mark is also a business man with appreciation for a budget and time.

I hired Mark to transform my apartment from a mishmash of stuff to a home that was comfortable yet stylish. I had a clear strategy going into the project but did not know how to start. I wanted to transform the boxy rooms into a series of warm and inviting living areas. While I knew I liked a contemporary style, I could not find any examples that really resonated with what I was looking for.

Mark asked the right questions to help me think through and then articulate the parameters of what I was looking for including; my budget, my priorities, and the style elements I liked etc… He then found the right combination of practical, comfortable, stylish and eye-popping items that fit my style. All pulled together with an impeccable eye for color. Mark also worked around my crazy work hours and demands. This was incredibly valuable to me throughout the process.

In the end I learned that as a client you can’t abdicate ownership of the project – it is your home after all. But the right decorating partner, like Mark, can make your home the best reflection of you.

We have used Mark Schryver of Schryver Designs twice in the last four years in two major renovations in Manhattan, as well as using him to refresh our Hamptons home. Both renovations involved major work, floor plan changes as well as kitchens and baths. Mark was both our designer and our project manager coordinating all work among architect, contractor and subcontractors, allowing for a stress free renovation for us. We found Mark to consistently deliver as promised. He is creative and in touch with current trends while ensuring timelessness to his decors so they do not age when the trends change. He has a great sense of color and texture, designed built-ins and some custom furniture for us, and worked well in both contemporary décor in the city, and traditional décor in the Hamptons. Importantly, Mark brings a sense of calm to a stressful situation and works very hard to please his clients. We would recommend his firm without reservation. He is terrific.
